Inserting Logos In Letterhead
A logo is a graphic, letters or combination of both that identifies a company or organization. A logo is supposed to be a unique identifier that helps the public easily identify a company from the rest. Designing a logo is not difficult although it depends on what details it contains. Some logos are quite complex while others are simple graphics or just letters. When creating a letterhead, a logo is a chief component. A letterhead without the company logo does not carry any validity and can be easily rejected as being unofficial.
The process of inserting logos in letterhead is simple if you know how to work with graphics. You must first prepare the graphic you want to use as a logo. You can design a graphic, take a photo shot of an existing object or use the numerous templates in the computer clip arts. Whichever method you use, you need to edit the picture to fit the dimensions of the paper on which it will be printed. You also need to consider the type of printer that will be used to make print outs of the graphics. For instance you need to know that a color graphic will appear black if printed on a printer that has no color cartridge. Some color combinations also look good on paper but do not appear nice on print outs. Before settling on an official logo it is good to print it out and see how it looks when printed using various types of printers.
If you want to insert a logo in a letterhead you can do it the same way as when you are inserting a picture for clip arts. You can choose to insert it inside the page area or as a header. Inserting a logo in the header section is the best option as it cannot be easily tampered with as it is being used from time to time. There are some applications that do automatic letterhead creation but this article shows how to manually create a letterhead with a logo. First open a new Word document and go to View option. Choose Headers and Footers. While there, go to Insert option and choose Picture. Choose from File option. Browse to where your logo graphic is saved. After you have effected you should see your logo on the header section of your letterhead. Remember to save your document in order to effect the changes.
